wedding discos and idyllic estates

This weekend just gone Tess and I packed up our family's and our camping gear and headed off to a lovely wedding in deepest darkest Devon. It was lovely to get out in the fresh air and catch up with some old friends. We camped in the grounds of the sort of house you dream abut living in and partied the day away in HC style.

our good friend Matt was there spinning a few toons and I just wanted to alert you to his (and the lovely Joel's) new record which I have to say is mighty tighty fine, check it our here...

big love to the Nick and the Emma, may they have lots more happy times!

WE WILL BE AT CAMP BESTIVAL!!

Yippee we will be at Camp Bestival which is a new festival organised by those lovely Bestival people. It set in the gorgeous Lulworth Castle near Lulworth cove in Dorset. Its all set to be fantastic with much more emphasis on CAMPING! The Happy Campers will be spreading lots of sillyness and fun. We are having silly morning aerobics with the lyrca clad lovelies at 8.30am. Then there will be daily workshops ...... how to make indian headdresses, bird kites, painting and decorating kids tipis. We will also be making a giant pinata throughout the weekend and then we'll hoist it up on sunday. we will also be running a tent putting up and taking down competition for all the camping experts out there. So pop in say hello, have a cuppa and put your feet up. See you there Love Tess and Kat xx

GOING DUTCH

Did you know that The Happy campers is also published in Dutch? well you do now!
Dutch Glamour decided to write a piece on us which is great and I love the extra images they've slotted in of young long legged girls, perhaps everyone will think we've had a makeover!

forum finds

Its been nice to see that the forum is getting some use, and long may it continue!
I just added a two new campsites thanks to the eagle eye of a member who spotted one in the mirror newspaper and some more detective work from yours truly, involving actually reading the guardian I was about to stick in the recycling! can't believe I hadn't spotted it earlier, the travel section is usually the first section pawed through. and instead of one new campsite I find two, brill!

FForestcamp nr Cardigan in wales where the camps are already set up ready for you and there is a real community feel

and

Eskdale campsite with wooden camping pods, a camping barn and some lovely fields for your own portable home

I also learnt of a really bargain bell tent discovered by Happy Camper Nic on a dutch website, you do have to battle with the fact that the site is in another language but for 186 euros with postage I think its worth it. heres the thread with a few tips on how to make sense of it all

long time no see

well it always amazes me what a lovely bunch of Happy Campers members we have. I'm referring of course to all the lovely letters, emails and reviews we had over the last few months whilst we have been absent from our duties of updating the website. yup you guys haven't given up on us and luckily neither have we! I am returned fresh and sparkling from my adventures traveling the world and Tess is somewhat less shiny though very happy after months of living like a nomad while working extremely hard helping Karn do up their new house (she's finally going online tomorrow - hurrah!)

well more on our adventures another time. I just wanted to share with you this lovely letter I had from Mr Joseph Degnan Esq. (its his happy camper pictured above!) who alerted me to the fact that a few of you may be yearning for a Happy Campers compilation CD. Now that is a great idea but it may take some doing. Perhaps we could just start with a playlist for now, any suggestions for the ultimate camping soundtrack send them to me at kat@thehappycampers.co.uk and we'll get them up on the site. Mr Degnans tip was The Ditty Bops, check out their cool videos here. I can certainly imagine listening to this whilst driving along the country lanes, breathing in that fresh air we all like to get our lungs around...

the elf will soon be one!

I cant believe the elf will soon be one, we are hoping the weather will be good and we can go on a spring camp for her birthday as she loves being outside. She is a real nature baby and is currently obsessed by birds and grass!
