This is a beautifully situated campsite, just 500 yards (across a road) from the North Norfolk coastline, in the beautiful and ancient village of Burnham Deepdale. When we first went 5 or 6 years ago, it was a lovely, small, family-run operation, barely more than a small farm campsite. To be honest, as it’s got bigger, it’s lost some of its charm and it’s more expensive than it was. The tiny front paddock is still very pretty, but the back field is pretty sweeping, gets very cramped at Bank Holiday time, and the new shower block, whilst undoubtedly more comfortable than the tiny old shower, can also get very crowded. There’s a small shop and information area now where you can buy organic produce and get good local information. There’s also a small café now selling great food if you’ve burnt all your breakfast sausages come Sunday morning. You can hire teepees, stay in their fantastic barn rooms with stunning shared kitchen… or just camp. The site is great for kids to explore, and meet and play with other kids. The surrounding countryside is stunning. We went last year and went to the wonderful jazz festival organised in conjunction with the campsite and held a shot walk away.
