Westermill was my first experience of camping in over 20 years and it didn't disappoint. It's a truly beautiful site nestling in a secluded Somerset valley - just tents, no caravans. You can pitch where you like in any of the level 4 fields that follow the stream. Hours of fun to be had swinging from rope bridges and paddling - excellent for kids of all ages. Campfires are allowed and the owners are very friendly. The only rule is quiet after 10.30 which suits us with small children. Facilities are basic but clean. Couldn't recommend it highly enough. If you want a rural and back to basics camping experience, this is the place.

This is a brilliant back to nature site, Great camping fields all lovely and flat and right near the river which is perfect for the kids to play in. washing facilities are basic but clean - get there early for a hot shower! Surrounding countryside is beautiful, some lovely walks, really felt like we’d got away from it all. we didn’t want to leave and will definitely be back

A fantastic farm camp site with a warm welcome. Child and dog friendly. Great walks from the site. The stream is very relaxing. Children enjoy playing in the cold gentle running water. A good spot to chill your beer or wine too. The shop is handy for daily essentials. Camp fires allowed in the third field. I would recommend this site to any campers!

I can honestly say that this is one of the best campsites I have ever stayed at. We were there in 2006 & had a wonderful holiday, the kids (& us adults) spent many a happy hour in the river with their nets & buckets catching trout, don't get to excited they were only fry but it was lovely to be able to give my boys something special in their childhood. Don't forget to explore the farm & the beautiful scenery from outside your tent when you wake up in the morning. There is a small shop on site selling your basics & a good supply of the farms own produce. The only thing that will disturb you here is the occasional heiffer having an early morning moo! Remember only the fourth field has fires but there is ample room. Highly recommended for families.

Stayed here in August 2007 in a tent. Its a lovely setting - a beef farm right in the Exe valley - the river (shallow at this point) runs right through the site. The camping fields run alongside the river (with one thoughtfully fenced off for those with small children). iI the large top field you can have campfires although this field is furthest from the shower blocks. One of these is solar powered. The blocks are fine & kept clean. This is a heavenly site for children as there are rope swings across the river so they can paddle about to their hearts content. You can walk up-river to a deeper pool for some river swimming, and there are other walks direct from the site. The farm produces good quality beef and sausages & there is a farm shop. Campers should bear in mind that this is a working farm and therefore there are some rules which have to be obeyed - eg not leaving gates open. Nearby village has a couple of pubs and general stores, and you are in the heart of Exmoor... bliss.
