Hello, just back from my annual birthday camping trip. This year we found the fabulous site at Syke farm, Cumbria. It's in the titchy hamlet of Buttermere, but has everything you could possibly want. Two pubs to choose from, two lakes for lazy strolls, mountains galore if you're feeling energetic, river for chilling your beer, chilled out farmer (though my camping bunting did puzzle his wife, she thought we were a bunch of gypsies!). A small herd of cows on the farm make the best ice cream on the planet -you have to try the marzipan flavour -mmm! To top it off a group of lady morris dancers entertained us on the last night, though I can't garuntee that happens every time you visit. Wee yellow tent x
