Spent a week here in mid July and enjoyed every second. The campsite was fairly empty and we got a big pitch with brick campfire and picnic table. The track to the site is rather un-car friendly but this keeps the riff raff out. The site is large with access to a lovely wood where you can gather your own wood but it's also on sale from the very friendly and laidback owner, John. The track to the campsite would make this a bit awkward if you wanted to stay out late, but most people were happy around their fires at night. Only 2 showers so could get crowded if full, but for a relaxed country campsite this is tops.

My daughter and I discovered this fabulous site this summer and have both decided that our summer holidays are sorted out from now on.Sometimes,travelling as a lone parent with an only child can be a bit lonely, but from the moment we arrived and received a warm welcome from John and Kay we were inundated with offers of help pitching up,cups of tea and glasses of wine. No one was trying to create territory with windbreaks. The campfires flickered and on the first evening alone we were invited to three.We had two days of beautiful weather and three of rain but even so we had a great time.Two nights were spent in the barn listening to great music.We were so sad to leave and can't wait to return.We just hope it never changes.

We first stayed at this campsite in August 2007 and had such a great time that we returned in August 2008. Both times the weather was absolutely appalling but we had the time of our lives - even with two 17 year old girls! Yes there is only one shower for the gents and one for the ladies but they are large, free and kept very clean so you just have to chose the right time to go. The facilities are basic, one sink only for washing up so there were often queues but if you're on this site you're going to be laid back and in no hurry anyway.

The barn has a multitude of uses, a hangout when the weather is bad and a great place for making your own entertainment in the evenings. The owner often drops free beer off and actively encourages musicians to put on impromptu performances. Plus the barn is full of useful bits and bobs you can borrow like kites and surfboards etc. If you have a fancy car then this is not the site for you. If you want a campfire, the sounds of people chatting and an amazing display of shooting stars then you've found a great site.

We stayed at Noongallas in August 2009 and had the most wonderful time - it was full of fantastically friendly people and there was a great feeling about the place. I thought the facilities were quite good compared to other places I have stayed, and yes there is only one shower but when camping you have all the time in the world so waiting for a bit and reading the information board (full of useful stuff) was no problem at all!

We took our new bell tent (4m) and were delighted to spot 5 others there also! The first pitch we chose was a bit small for it and after a night of feeling we were going to fly away (it was incredibly windy) we quickly moved when our 'neighbours' left.

The only downside was being a on a very exposed hill and it was probably us, but it took 2 1/2 hours one evening to cook rice on our fire! Wind breaks definitely recommended.

Great place though, and particularly so for kids. Penzance and St Ives (and lots of other amazing places) only a short distance away.
