"A spacious heathland site, Roundhill has plenty of room to let you enjoy the freedom of the forest. There’s lots to do with junior fishing on-site from mid-June and adult fishing close by.Nearby at Beaulieu you’ll find the National Motor Museum and the remains of the Cistercian Abbey founded in 1204 by King John."

This is a lovely site - vast heathland in the middle of the forest with lots of sheltered hiding spots amongst the trees. We had a couple of little hitches though. The management haven't provided maps and the lady at the entrance didn't tell us some areas are out of bounds - so come her visit at 9pm we were asked to move off our lovely patch (along with another group too) as we were on protected grasses - we would never want to do any damage so this was annoying as they really should have told us. Not to worry though, an hour of tent wrestling the next morning and we were properly located! Unfortunately the next day we returned from a rainy afternoon to find the whole site (including the middle of our tent) is actually quite marshy. Wellies were a necessity! All of that said though the setting really is beautiful and it's easy to head off for lovely forest walks. The new loo and shower blocks are great and you can easily set yourself up far enough away from them if you choose. There are some great little farm shops a few miles up the road too where you can buy all you need for your feasts. We'll definitely be back.

This used to be our favorite campsite as you could get away from people but recent visits have showed us that it is now too popular for it's own good and the addition of showers has added to the numbers. It seems to be full all the time and noisy with it. A shame as it was such a wonderful site.

We used this site in April. We were a group of campervans. We found the wardens (???) a little OTT when they arrived and measured how far we were apart and made us move once we had set up (and we were less than a foot under the correct distance apart) which they really didn't need to do. Apart from that, it was ok, noisy at times, hato to use the word but it was a bit chavvy at times too with motorhomes full of teenagers just dropping litter with parents saying nothing. Good clean toilets and showers though. Lots of warm water but you have to get up early to avoid the queues. 50/50 as to whether we would go back again, maybe if eveything else was full.

My friends invited me along to camp with them at Roundhill for a couple of nights last week. We were a lot of a adults and a few kids too.
The site was really well maintained. Hot showers. Nice enough bathrooms and expect a violent soaking from the washing up facilities. The ground staff take a rather old school headmistress approach to discipline and camping security (some of the other reviews do not surprise me).
The thing that did surprise me was the amount of open top cars on display. Felt as if I was in Kensington. I instead jumped on a train from Waterloo (London) and was there in a very peaceful 1.5 hours.
