"Britchcombe Farm is a working farm with plenty of sheep cattle, hens, ducks and geese in an unspoilt area of lovely countryside where you are made to feel welcome (we have many repeat visitors).
We are 1 mile away from the village of Uffington and 1/4 mile away from beautiful Lambourn Chalk Downs and historic Ridgeway path. The famous White Horse Hill is just above the farm.
The White Horse Hill with its magnificent views and historic myths is within walking distance, we recommend taking a blanket or taking advantage of the picnic areas provided (packed lunches available on request). The area has many footpaths and byways by which to explore one of the most beautiful parts of Oxfordshire.
Why not make use of one of our family accommodating mobile homes, with two to choose from available all year round with gas cooking, TV, high chair, cot and double and single rooms. Both are equipped with a bathroom with bath, sink and flush toilet. Pets can be accommodated by arrangement.

Such a lovely site, beautiful views, lovely walks close by, perfect roads for cycling, real fires and cream teas - totally relaxed!

Just got back from great weekend at Britchcombe. We were at the bottom of Ash bottom field, practically had it to ourselves. Able to have fire in existing fire pits and Mrs Seymour delivers wood to your tent every evening, and checks that all is well. Basic but clean facilities, we had 3 clean portaloos in our field and a tap for water (as did the other 3 or 4 fields) and there are showers over the road next to the farm house. Lovely to be able to pick your own spot in the field, this really is camping how it should be! Easy to walk up to White horse hill from campsite with small children (aged 5,5,7). Mrs Seymour happy to have dogs staying so long as you clear up after them, and didn't charge extra for them.
Would highly recommend, and would re-visit.

Despite this campsite having everything you could want in terms of location, facilities and space the overall experience was not good no thanks to an authoritarian and confrontational owner.
We weren't the only campers to suffer from her abrupt and overbearing manner. One couple were accused of importing wood, the owner deduced the wood was not of the smoky £5 a sack variety she begrudgingly sold because it 'didnt burn like that'.
People with dogs were continually told to keep them under control, even when they were obviously on a lead.
The proximity to The Ridgeway and White Horse obviously provides enough custom that the staff here can treat people however they like. Glad I didnt book a long stay.

We recently returned from a lovely stay at this campsite. During our time here we felt that the owners could not have been more helpful. As a fairly local girl I particularly enjoyed the down to earth no nonsense approach which has been all too often replaced by superficial charm with price tags to match. I loved being out under a big clear sky with no light pollution by a blazing fire - we sat and watched the milky way rather than the telly. You can walk right up onto the Ridgeway from here and the hedgerows were bursting with breakfast. The dog had a pretty good time too. Please don't tell too many of your friends as it would be a shame if this got spoiled.
