"A small friendly, caring, family run campsite, situated on a working farm half a mile from Robin Hoods Bay on the B1447, within walking distance of the local pubs and shops. It is approximately 5 miles from Whitby and 20 miles from Scarborough.
Our aim is to provide a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere for everyone camping within a farming community.
Come and enjoy the panoramic sea and country views, clearly visible from every pitch.
It is also possible to bring your horse with you. We offer DIY livery either stabled or at grass for £20 per-week"

We visited late last summer. Very friendly and helpful staff. Small and a little crowded (due to popularity of the site) but EVERY pitch has a beautiful view of the bay and there is a pleasant field path to the village (with the world's best fish and chip shop, and some great pubs, cafes, little shops and fossil-hunting on the beach.) No light pollution means great star gazing and on our visit last year, they had invited the local astronomical society - with their huge expensive telescopes - along for a star party, which rounded off a lovely night. Plenty of room for children to run free. Fresh eggs available in the morning. We can't wait to go again.

Lovely quiet campsite (despite the many families) with gorgeous views over of Robin Hood's Bay. Within walking distance of the village, which has a grocery shop, cafes and pubs (we liked Ye Dolphin) as well as 3 great bookshops. Admittedly it's a steep climb up the hill on the way back to the campsite but if you've had a few beers you won't mind. Whitby is a 15-minute drive away (or a 6-8 mile walk) and is a lovely little resort with smashing fish and chips, amongst other things. Facilities are clean but not very plentiful; only four showers for the whole site. The lady who runs the place, Gill, is very helpful and is constantly whizzing about, checking everyone's OK.
They don't take bookings for tents so you need to arrive fairly early on a bank holiday, for example. We got there at 8.15-ish on the Friday night and there were still a fair few pitches left, but they were full by the Saturday. Slightly sloping ground, but well-drained and not steep enough to be uncomfortable. Good value too - £5.50 per adult per night over the B/H weekend, no extra charge for the car. We'd definitely go back.
