'Our small camp site is in a quiet, sheltered position, in our orchard. There are terraces for the tents, which are reasonably spaced out. We usually only have about six tents even in the peak season. There are compost toilets, a solar shower, and a camp fire to cook on. An electric shower and a flush toilet are also available. The camping field is a car-free zone. (The car parking is close to the house, which is 200m from the camp site. The unloading point is 100m from the camp site. There are wheelbarrows to help you move your things). We have yurts and tipis available for hire. We hope to get internet access for your laptops in our Visitor's Barn. It is best to book in advance, especially if you have a large tent. We cannot accomodate camper-vans.'

This campsite is absolutely beautiful. We hired a bell tent in the orchard, which was in a secluded spot up a few steps and behind some shrubs. We spent four days watching clouds and stars and cooking on our campfire, and hardly saw another soul.

The 'normal' loo was a bit grim, but the compost loo was absolutely fine and very clean. There is only one shower so I guess that would potentially be a problem, but I gather there are only a few tents there at any one time. Anyway, it wasn't a problem for us. You can pay extra to use cooking & washing facilities in the barn, which we didn't. Didn't miss the cooker, but did miss being able to wash up (never thought I'd say that). If you don't mind giving yourself up to nature for a few days, this is an amazing to place to get away from it all!

Oh and just a note about the short amble through the woods to the beach - this is a near-vertical scramble and a bit hellish when wet!!!

We went to Keveral after it appeared in The Sunday Times 20 best campsites, but changed our mind about staying after being shown around. The yurt and bell tent were poorly maintained and by the owner's admission hadn't been cleaned since the last occupants left. The whole place felt neglected and tatty, with rusty vehicles and old furniture littering the place, and sadly didn't live up to the rural idyll we were expecting. Furthermore the local beach was grim and grey with a shoddy cafe.
