"We are a small family run semi-wild campsite, with a handful of clearings cut into the meadows & woodland for tents, with access to a few designated open campfires & wood seats, etc. Plenty dry dead wood for you to collect. Further overflow spaces for you to make your own pitch. We are 10 miles north of Edinburgh(directions provided when you book.) We have limited facilities of cold running water for washing & washing up & an environmentally friendly self composting sawdust toilet. There is a badger hide & a few yards up our lane is our sports area, with football goal, basket ball & all kinds of bats & games. Plenty of walks, rustic bridges over stream & space to wander at your own discretion & risk as it may be slippy, etc. Children should be accompanied. Lots of wild flowers & grasses, orchids, ferns, fruits in season, birds, butterflies, Sorry no pets due to badgers & deer & other numerous wildlife.

Also 3 harder standing for campervans or caravans with their own facilities. We also have a vintage Castleton 2 berth caravan, serial number 1339 for hire. It has cold running water, lovely oak veneered cupboards & drawers, a toilet (camping style) compartment, a gas heater, gas cooker rings & grill & lots more. We also have a self catering 100 year old stone cottage & self catering style B & B, this is set at the foot of our 15 acre woodland.

There is a 24 hour Tesco 1 mile North & several places to eat, 2 miles North at Fife Leisure Park. Good oak beamed pub within 2 miles. Plenty to do locally, Lochore Meadows, touring fishing villages, beaches, historic buildings & towns, boat rides, etc. Snacks, etc. by arrangement. You can also pre-order local beef or pork sausages, etc.& I'll get them in for your visit.

We are too small to take visa or switch, so either book & send a British cheque or bring cash for pay on arrival, when you take a pot luck pitch. e mail chris.barley@virgin.net"

It's 10 miles north of Edinburgh. Magical. Butterflies, bats, birds & badgers abound. Flora & fauna. Good to book in advance but can be squeezed in at different areas. Tolerant but not stupid owners ( burn dead wood instead of living limbs. Stick to designated campfires.) Lots of local attractions for families. Some caravans & motorhomes on Strawberry field. Silver birch grove, wild raspberries, blackberries, strawberries, whytch elm, assorted trees.
