Mid way through our Wales tour we decided to stay at Woodhouse as they have a tipi... Only £36 mid week price which is a lot cheaper than most! This site is lovely, as well as the tipi you can camp too. The owners were really friendly and even left us a note with everything about the tipi as they couldn't be there when we arrived! The tipi is in a meadow and although no facilities there are toilet tents dotted around with a chemical loo inside each. My only problem with the tipi was the spiders and bugs, as a camper I can cope with most but it was really over run with them as its obviously a permanent fixture in the field, which is surrounded by long grass. The spiders really were everywhere even all over the bed we'd set up and the walls and in our bags once we left. We ended up putting our tent up next to the tipi at 11pm as I just couldn't face sleeping with that many, especially after one landed in my lap whilst on the loo!!! Not sure what other tipi places do to combat this problem or if they are all this bad?!?! It did shatter my romantic illusion of sleeping in a tipi though!!!!
