open: Easter to September

"Located on an old river meadow with plenty of space to 'stretch out' the campsite is for tents and campervans only. Facilities reflect that this is a campsite for 'real' campers(!) and include cold running water, portaloo's and open campfire facilities. However, if cooking over an open stove is not your thing, The New Harp Inn is just 200m away! Serving excellent food from noon till 10pm, going hungry won't be a problem"

"We have three traditional Sioux Native American tipis, each sleeping 4-5 comfortably. Each is placed sympathetically within beautiful woodland clearings facing our own private grassland valley. Each tipi is furnished with everything you need for camping in luxury and style. When it is warm you can lift the outer canvas and sun yourself in total comfort, whilst being at one with nature. It makes an excellent place for observing the local wildlife, especially at dusk"

Symonds Yat
Ross On Wye
Herefordshire
HR9 6BP

tel> 01600 890438

pitches> 36

open: March To October

description>
"The south facing terraced site makes the most of the sun, and is completely surrounded by woodland (most of which has free public access). Deer are frequently seen early morning and late evening, along with the occasional badger and fox. Buzzards and occasionally falcons circle overhead. The site has its own fenced woodland, which is ideal for children to play in and make camps – without the fear of getting lost. As we permanently live on site security is very good"

Orchard Yurt nestles beside old apple trees in our garden in the rural village of Putley. It has all you need to keep you warm and cosy on a chilly evening: sheepskins, blankets, woolen rugs underfoot and a wood burner. It sleeps four adults very comfortably with two fold out beds and a double futon or two adults and three children. Lanterns are provided and a small gas burner to make tea and coffee. All you need to bring are sleeping bags, towels and a good torch. The outside kitchen is well equipped with fridge/freezer, plates, mugs, cutlery, knives, pots, pans etc and there is a covered area to cook. We have a BBQ/Firepit for those rare barmy evenings to cook on and then use as a campfire to roast you marshmallows and drink the local cider and perry. There are two pitches for tents so that you can bring friends. We accept camper vans but no caravans or motor homes. No charge for Shower, Campfires allowed but only with the pit. 5 miles from River Wye and canoeing. Fantastic walking and challenging cycling. Two good pubs nearby. Cot available. Riding School, Table Tennis Table and Neighboring Tennis court for Hire. N.B. We are having some trouble with our website which means we cannot update the opening times. This campsite is actually open from April to September only, love The HC's xx
